Current Projects

Hern Communications worked with STEMNET to identify schools in each region with thriving STEM Clubs who could host a local networking event. Recruiting delegates to attend the events was an intensive process: contacting all schools within a reasonable travel distance, sending out an invitation to STEM Ambassadors and cold-calling local small and medium  STEM businesses (ranging from web designers and architects to manufacturers and fabricators) to introduce them to the concept of supporting education and inviting them to their local event.


Each event included a presentation from STEMNET, the host school and a STEM Ambassador and then Hern Communications led group discussions to explore the issues and priorities for schools and businesses working together to inspire and engage students with STEM in real world contexts.

Delegate comments

STEMNET had been asked by the Department of Education to help School STEM Clubs connect to business. In response to this challenge, Hern Communications submitted a plan to deliver a programme of regional twilight events bringing together local teachers, STEM Ambassadors and businesses to present case studies of successful STEM Club activities and business connections and give delegates a chance to find support, advice and network.
